Gemma Taylor completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Western Australia after being awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Western Australia in 2001. During her studies, she worked as a law clerk and paralegal from 2005 at Bradford & Co (now Bradford Legal) and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of WA in June 2009.
Gemma has experience in multiple areas of personal injury and insurance law including motor vehicle, workers’ compensation, fatal accidents, public liability and third party industrial matters. She has a particular interest in institutional childhood sexual abuse claims and heads the abuse department at Bradley Bayly Legal.
Gemma has represented plaintiffs, large public and private insurers and acted as in-house counsel for St John of God Healthcare. She also represented the Insurance Commission of WA for 4 years as specified personnel on its legal panel.
Gemma has appeared as Junior Counsel at trial and as Counsel for coronial inquests. In addition, she has attended WorkCover, the Magistrates Court, the District Court and the Supreme Court to progress her client’s interests. She has also assisted in a number of High Court leave applications.
